Welcome

By Senator Judson Hill, on Oct 28, 2009

In 2004 Judson won the general election to become East Cobb and Sandy Spring's State Senator by winning almost 75% of the vote.

Judson for Senate I asked for your vote with the simple promise that I'd go to the Georgia Dome to protect the values that have made us proud to be Americans. I am excited to deliver on that promise. In the legislation I introduce and with each vote I cast, my desire is to promote effective solutions to the challenges our state faces and to provide visionary leadership that represents your values. Since 2005 I have authored and successfully passed the nation’s first patient-centered prevention-focused free market healthcare reform legislation making healthcare and insurance more affordable for Georgia’s working families. Several of my healthcare bills have been adopted by national associations as model legislation. Since elected I was instrumental in the passage of Georgia’s comprehensive civil justice reform bill, championed efforts to enhance your quality of life by helping to improve the roads in our community, to assist small-business owners in growing their companies, to improve the quality of health care, improve the educational opportunities for our children. I also led the charge in the Senate to finally give the people of Sandy Springs the right to vote to become a city. Day to day I also strive to uphold the values of faith and family and to deliver with conservative common sense solutions that benefit our children, businesses and community.

Please tell me how I can help you and your family. Thank you for this honor to serve.

Weekly Update - February 21, 2010 - Issue 6

By Senator Judson Hill, on Feb 22, 2010

Thursday marked the half-way point for the 2010 Session. The news of the week is our decision to recess Session for the next 2 weeks as we dedicate extensive time to focus almost exclusively on prioritizing our core government services and assessing ways to reduce spending and the size of government programs.

School Statement

By Senator Judson Hill, on Feb 18, 2010

All Georgians would benefit from a consistent and later school start date. Today beginning school in early August, almost in July for Cobb students, people must pay for almost year round school operations, higher energy costs to operate schools and buses, expensive mid year children's campaign programs for child care, modifications to child custody orders and a lack of focus on what's best for our children. Last year I introduced an amendment on an education bill to do what HB 1097 provides. I welcome the opportunity to work with Rep.

Weekly Update: February 14, 2010 - Issue 5

By Senator Judson Hill, on Feb 15, 2010

We continued committee hearings last week discussing pending bills and voting on several bills everyday on the Senate floor. January revenue numbers came in even lower than expected creating additional concern about how we can balance the budget.

Several bills of note passed and Gov. Perdue signed into law the first 2010 bill. Below are some highlights from this week.

Happy Valentines Day !!

Please tell me of any issues that concern you. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve you and the State of Georgia, and always welcome your feedback.
